Emotet spreads mainly through messages (mail). The email message contains a malicious link or document that contains the virus. Downloading the document or opening the link will automatically download malware to your computer. In very many cases, these emails are nice copies of existing emails. After infection, the malware spreads as a computer worm and tries to infiltrate other computers in the network.
